I have been blessed to have a stellar career in academia. I have Miami High School to thank for that basis of that. When I was there, it was brand new, had some wonderful teachers (Beryl McSloy (Hallam), David Swan, Bernie McKenzie, Greg Fearnley, jump to mind - there were many others. They taught me to be curious, critical and questioning - qualities that have not just stood me in good stead, but allowed me to think.
My husband, Allan and I are moving back to Brisbane as I retire. We've done some wonderful things - lived in Ireland, UK, Indonesia, PNG, Perth, Townsville, Bathurst, and spent months at a time in places like Sweden and Iceland, but now it is time to come home to our two kids (aged 44 and 42) and their families.

Warm greetings to all. I now live and work in Europe. After Miami High, I lived in Qld for 2 yrs, then moved to Sydney. 20 yrs later went to USA, now been based in Switzerland since 1999. I miss Australia/Qld very much--though when I recently said this to a friend, he said maybe you just miss the old days. Seems right. I've been married 22 yrs and we have two teenagers, girl and boy --I started later than most, it seems.
